All-Americanは辞書を引くと「真にアメリカ人的な」と出てたりするけど、つまりは「理想的な典型的なアメリカ人の」みたいな意味っていうか、（たぶん中西部の中流白人家庭で育ち）アメフトのキャプテンやって名門大学進学を蹴って従軍してシルバースター貰って帰ってくるなんてまず「典型的」ではないわけですが、「理想の息子」像ではあるわけです。typcalとidealは一致しねーだろと思うけど、両方all-americanなんですよね（ただし「白人の考える」typicalとideal、みたいな）。
